„A NEW CHANCE“
FOURTH PROJECT MEETING

On 17th – 21st of October 2007 in Klaipeda region and Klaipeda city correctional institution there took place the fourth project meeting “A NEW CHANCE”. The project “A NEW CHANCE” is financed by the support of European Commission Education Exchange fund. The duration of the project is from the 1st of August 2006 until 31st of July 2009. The purpose of the project is to increase the social integration of the students by teaching them to use new informative technologies, invoking the best experience of the project participants.

On the first project meeting day all the participants were accommodated in the hotel „Promenada“. On the second day the project meeting participants discussed over the process of the project „A NEW CHANCE“ and introduced their own work specifics at their institutions of using how to teach the students to use new informative technologies. For our guests there was shown a film by A. Matelis “A Flight through Lithuania or 150 minutes of Silence”. After the film all the participants get acquainted with the personnel of Klaipeda city and Klaipeda region Correctional institution, working conditions and work specifics, material base, the pursued programmes of social integration and social rehabilitation. In the evening the guests had an opportunity to visit a Lithuanian family and to taste Lithuanian meals. On the third day the project meeting partners visited the Inquisition Isolator of Siauliai city where they got acquainted with the work specifics of the Institution and with the appliance and learning conditions of the suspends’ and arrested people. After this visit the guest visited nearby situated Cross Hill. After that all the project participants have returned to Klaipeda city and Klaipeda region Correctional Institution where the discussions about the project website (http://www.anewchance.net), about the predictable establishing of the learning platform and about the final purpose of the project – e-book, in which should be all the information about the best experience of the project participants in the field of learning to use new informative technologies systemized were being continued. On the fourth day of the project meeting the guests were organized of the cultural tour to the Curonian Spit, they have visited the Sea Museum in Smiltyne, The Witch Hill in Juodkrante and the impressive sea-bank of Nida.
